COUPLES THERAPY

A PATHWAY TO CONSCIOUS RELATING

We are all mirrors in reflection of intimacy and connection

In Western culture, there is profound emphasis on being an individual, being ‘separate,’ and claiming what is ‘mine.’ When in balance, there is nothing wrong with this idea. Though, when we perceive ‘ourselves’ as separate, instead of perceiving ourselves as perpetually in relationship with others, we can desensitize ourselves from empathy, relational attunement, and ultimately, from the connection that we all crave. It is often overlooked how important our relationships are. The majority of trauma we experience happens in relationships,  that what permeates us all is our relationships with our partner(s), within our families and communities. Healthy relationships are what heals us, from the inside out.

Our relational blueprint is our foundation of healthy connection, communication, and intimacy that begins with ourselves first. It takes work and dedication to develop self-awareness that breaks those unhealthy patterns and cycles. It calls forth a slowing down, an understanding of our nervous system’s response to “threat” and how we self-regulate to co-regulate and vice versa. This happens from the inside out; ultimately supporting the rewiring of what is unconscious and insecure, to conscious and secure in our relationship with ourselves and with our partner(s).

My orientation is rooted in somatics and attachment theory. The modalities I integrate are contingent upon what you are needing to work through that include, but not limited to: Sensate Focus, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), nonviolent communication, somatic techniques, psychodynamics, and mindfulness. Our work will reshape negative cycles that create blockages and misattunements in your dynamic with your partner(s) that hinder vulnerability, authenticity, and connection.

Whether it be the flame of romance / rekindling desire / desire discrepancy, working through trauma,  tools for healthy communication, intimacy and connection, vulnerability, healing trauma and rupture, skillbuilding for conscious conflict, indfidelity, working with jealousy, opening up the relationship/maintaining healthy and secure polyamorous connection, navigating kinky fantasy , conscious uncoupling, and etc. I am confident we can work together in good harmony through whatever struggles may present in your relationship(s).
